Shelburne Harbour Yacht Club has been serving the Shelburne community since 1903. We provide a social club membership, recreation boating dockage, year round social activities, and boating lessons. Our club is administered and maintained by a small staff and numerous volunteers.
Today, the club proudly occupies new facilities at the edge of the Historic Waterfront District, as part of the Muir-Cox Shipyard Museum Complex. The SHYC shares space in the former large vessel building of Harley S. Cox and Sons with the Osprey Arts Centre and Theatre, Shelburne Harbour Marina Association and Shelburne Sailing School Association.
Alan Pulfrey was elected Commodore in January 2009. Alan spent his early years jetting around in a fighter cockpit but on retirement from the UK military, he adopted the more pedestrian pastime of sailing/cruising.
